Your D&D table, on every screen.

dnd-table is a virtual tabletop for playing in person. The GM runs the game from a laptop, players use their phones, and a TV shows the battle map to the room. It runs on your own computer: no subscription, no cloud account.

The GM's screen: a cave map with tokens, a goblin's quick actions open beside it, the turn order, dice and the log.

One game, three kinds of screen

Everyone sees what they should, and nothing more.

Every screen joins the same live session. The server decides what each one may see, so hidden creatures, fog, secret doors and the GM's notes never reach a player's phone.

The GM preparing a scene: walls, doors and terrain on a cave map, with the scene settings in the sidebar.

The GM's laptop

Prepare scenes, run fights, roll in secret, and see the whole map, including what the players can't.

A player's phone: the map, with their character's attacks and checks in a sheet along the bottom.

Players' phones

Their character sheet, their tokens and a tap-to-roll for everything. Nothing to install.

The table display: the battle map full screen with the turn order and recent rolls.

The TV on the table

Any browser becomes the shared screen with a pairing code: the map, the turn order, rolls and handouts.

Features

Everything the table needs, built on the 2024 rules.

Battle maps

Upload a map or start from a grid. Walls, doors and terrain, fog of war, light sources and line of sight, so each player sees only what their character can.

Characters

A step-by-step creator and level-up, and a sheet that works out every bonus, applies conditions to rolls and tracks HP, slots and rests.

Combat

Initiative, 341 SRD monsters with stat blocks you can roll from, area templates, and quick actions on every token, right on the map.

Knowledge base

Every spell, monster, item and rule is a link, with nested popups and related entries. The whole SRD, plus the rules glossary, one click away.

Campaign wiki

NPCs, places and lore that link themselves wherever they're mentioned, shared with the party when you choose. Secret notes stay yours.

Handouts and sound

Show a letter or a portrait full screen on the TV. Play music and layered ambience, in sync on every screen that wants it.

Look anything up

Rules at your fingertips, not in a rulebook.

Hover a name to preview it, click to pin it, and follow links into further popups. Ctrl/⌘ K searches everything. Each entry also lists what's related: which spells deal Fire damage, which creatures resist it, what protects against it.

  • 339 spells, 341 monsters, 262 magic items
  • The full SRD rules glossary, linked as you read
  • Your campaign's own pages, mixed right in
Nested popups: Fireball, and beside it the Fire damage type with spells, creatures and protections.

For players

A character sheet that does the maths.

Build a character by the 2024 rules, then tap any bonus to roll it. Advantage, conditions and exhaustion are applied for you, and HP, spell slots and resources stay in sync with the GM's tracker.

  • Creator and level-up for every SRD class and species
  • Attacks, spells, checks and saves in one tap
  • Works on any phone, no app to install
A wizard's character sheet on a phone: hit points, AC, initiative and speed.

For the GM

Your world, linked together.

Write NPCs, places and factions once; their names link themselves in handouts, chat and other pages. Share each page with everyone, some players or nobody, and keep secret notes only you can see.

  • Creatures keep their names secret until you reveal them
  • Preview the map exactly as any player sees it
  • Handouts and images straight onto the TV
The campaign wiki: an NPC page with aliases, tags, linked text, GM-only secret notes and backlinks.

Private by design

Your table, your computer, your data.

Runs on your network

One computer at the table runs it; everyone else opens it in a browser over Wi-Fi.

No subscription

Free and open source under the MIT licence. No accounts with anyone but your own server.

One folder to back up

Your whole campaign is one database and your uploads. Copy the folder and you're safe.

Secrets stay secret

Hidden creatures, fog, secret doors and notes are filtered on the server, never just hidden on screen.
